I am a 22-year-old who occasionally blogs in my spare time. I don't post often but all I want is to impact readers through these small writings. Being a college student, leisure time is far from our grasp although having a small blog to write something down is something that I found really helpful. My title is quite a hard one to write since even I am still working on it. In life we make decisions our own and even on reliance we make one, where we come to know that each step we take we are simultaneously Moulding our future. In life, there are times where all we can do is watching ourselves hurt by our own decisions, times when you cannot feel more helpless by your own mistakes. Then we come to realization that we are mere human, we make mistakes. I have been reading these modern SELF LOVE teachings, where at first I really accepted it and even decided to apply it at its best. But there is more to life than just loving yourself and coming to realize that this was not what God would have even wanted. Taking care of ourselves is more than better, but to always put our own sentiments first is what I think is not always going to be appropriate in this life. God made us to love each other as we are family. Thinking about how the Apostles and the missionaries all around the globe spreading the good news and being tortured because they want to spread the word of God is an act of love. Where in my notion, I do not think the same people would have done what they did if they kept their feelings first. One of the videos I watched the other day where a guy says that Satan is not against good morals. What is good morals? why would God be against it is not what I wanted to say but a good teaching or quote can come from a good teacher but unless it is 'of God', it can somewhat mislead a person. The point is that not all good morals are wrong, there are tremendous teachings which resonates to God's teachings and it is important to know it. When I write these things, I want the reader to know that I am a very flawed human being but wish to spread God's word. In Matthew 16:24-26 Jesus said to His disciples, " If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his Cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?". Here, Jesus never asked us to keep ourselves first but rather asked to deny our very own selves and to take up His cross which is the mission of being His followers. Had He said to live a life where all we do is to love only ourselves, we would end up being self centered people not caring or loving ones Neighbour. Although, I am aware that Loving myself means that I should not do the same if the other person is not doing; But from my side I want you and even I to go beyond.
You may think you lose yourself but you will find God in your every act of love and I believe God will show you who you really are. Don't be afraid to cross oceans for people, our very own Creator was nailed to the cross for all, even for the people whose only moral is to bring Him down. His selfless act of Love leads us to where you and I are now, that Heaven became our Home.
